GIGO - Garbage In Garbage Out

Just like we feed our bodies daily, our mind feeds itself on everything we see, feel or hear. Unless we design a program to feed it well, how do we expect it to manufacture the right thinking and right emotions for us? And unless we think and feel right, how will we move towards success? Sounds like hard work? Well, not really…

All we have to do is to ‘begin with the end in mind’. What kind of story do we want to be? What kind of life do we want to have lived? Only enjoyment would be too hollow. Only work would be too exhausting. How about a mid path? A fine balance of hard work and fun….

Once the end is defined, we can get to work to create that food for the mind. Since we know what we want from it, we will be happy feeding it what it needs / deserves. In time, it’ll learn to be happy with it.

“Life is awesome when you know that you are on the way to create your story of choice – in style….”

– Ratish Wahie

THE SCEPTICS AND THE OPTIMISTS

There are 2 kinds of people – the sceptics and the optimists.

The sceptics keep fearing the worst. They keep imagining what will go wrong, how things will crash, how the world will come to an end soon. They are well meaning, nice people who haven’t figured out how to deal with the fear within.

The optimists also have their set of fears. They also observe the state of affairs and get concerned. But they choose to respond – with hope. They assure themselves of their own strengths and their intent to set things right. They remind themselves that there are other optimists in the world like themselves. They look to collaborate with them and deal with the challenges at hand.

Which one are you right now?
Which one would you rather be?
Which one do most of your friends symbolise?
Are you willing to let go of some hands, to be able to hold some new hands???

Torch In The Dark

How do you become a ‘torch in the dark’ for someone??

By understanding their wants and their needs…
By understanding the stated and more importantly the unstated needs….
By first appreciating and validating their needs…
By figuring out their emotional needs behind the material needs…
By creating a desire to help and be of service…
By comforting and reassuring them….
By promising to stand by them till needed….
By trying to get them the help they require…
By smiling and being patient….

Is the above easy to do? Well, let’s just keep in perspective the times when we are looking for a glimmer of hope and someone becomes nature’s answer to our prayers…
